I’m Jason Blackwell, and my story is all about turning obstacles into opportunities. I spent 20 years in the skilled trades, learning side-by-side with my father and building a career with my hands, until a wreck ended that chapter of my life. What could have stopped me instead became the reason I stepped into teaching and workforce development. For the past decade, I’ve dedicated myself to helping both students and adults find their path forward. I work in workforce and career and technical education, which gives me a unique perspective on what companies and communities really need. I’ve sat at the table with business leaders and walked alongside people just trying to better their lives. I know what it takes to meet people where they are, highlight their value, and open doors to real opportunity. From creating apprenticeship programs to leading nationally recognized training, I’ve seen firsthand how workforce development changes not only individuals but entire communities. When I speak, my goal isn’t just to motivate, it’s to give practical, actionable strategies that help businesses build stronger teams and help people build better futures. My mission is simple: to help others succeed and to be a voice for what’s possible when we invest in people.
